Hi! I'm Anna Borges, a writer, editor, and mental health advocate and I’m currently senior health editor for SELF. Previously, I was a senior editor for BuzzFeed's lifestyle and wellness brand Goodful, a senior staff writer for BuzzFeed Health, the social media editor for Women’s Health, and the LGBTQ Editor for Her Campus National. (I’m also a Virgo sun, Aquarius moon, Libra rising, Slytherin, INFJ, and Enneagram Personality Type 4.)

I have a particular passion for writing about mental, emotional, and sexual health, and guiding people in their journey of self-love, self-improvement, and self-discovery. I'm well-versed in writing expert-backed service journalism, as well as personal and humorous takes on mental health topics. I studied journalism and creative writing at Northwestern University where I was also a trained sexual health and assault peer educator, encouraging dialogue on campus about sexual health, sexuality, and sexual assault. An Oregon native, I now live in Brooklyn with my two cats that I can never resist mentioning because they’re perfect.

I'm writing a book called The More or Less Definitive Guide to Self-Care, an exhaustive collection of self-care tips, big and little, preventative and curative, concrete and abstract. It will release from The Experiment on November 1, 2019 and is available for preorder.
